"Gralheira" is the name of a mountain region where we had a wonderful Hike. Not far from "Arouca", in the "Serra da Freita" mountain range. Our resourceful guide, Dr. Mário Ribeiro, always shows us the most amazing locations. It's always a pleasure to participate in the activities of "Campo Aberto". Whazzup

Wow, last weekend was intense!

I had the visit of two good friends, Vera that came from Madrid and Ellen who flew from Amsterdam. As any weekend in Porto, we started on Friday off to the beach straight from the airport to catch some sun, and ended the day feasting on grilled fish and green wine.

Saturday started early with a trip to S. Pedro de Moel, where we joined a beach ultimate tournament. A lot of frisbees flying on a wonderful beach. Just click on the photo to get more photos. What was really amazing was the mix, we had experienced and new players, portuguese, german, dutch, but also colombian, belgian, spanish, italian, luxembourg... A great mix for a really well spent day. Lots of ultimate action on the sand and interesting people on the lines.

Sunday we did a tour of Porto that was... just right. Met more friends for lunch at Serralves Art Gallery, then the wine cellars in Gaia, a walk through the city and then to the main square.

Porto won the cup that day, and as we got to the main square lots of people were coming there to celebrate. Really loud and happy. Day ended of course with a "Francesinha", the typical dish from Porto. It would be really hard to top this weekend! Definitely will remember it.

This is post is for Dave and Rosie, who took the time to show us a bit of the beautiful county Cork. There's a lot of photos about that on Flickr, but here is one from a bird we saw on the shore.

Of course I had the post this one, after all the Godwits were omnipresent in our conversations adn really took a new meaning for me after this holidays.

This and other not really brilliant photos of an excellent day spent cycling on the Aran Islands, off the irish West coast.

Action

I'm back from a fantastic week! It started with a Ultimate Frisbee tournament in Dublin, where I played at the pick-up team, "Nobody Loves Me". That was an amazing experience, and Camy was the official photographer.
We had then the change to drive a bit around beautiful Ireland ending in Cork, where Rose and David hosted us and showed us around. I even had the chance to practise with the local team.
Good thing that Ryanair makes travelling so much simpler.
