Um pássaro de hábitos bem curiosos, este Chupim. Para além de por os ovos em ninho alheio, usa uma estratégia sui generis para garantir a continuação da prole. O que a fêmea faz depois da postura é regressar ao ninho a ver se o ovo continua lá. Se isso não acontecer destrói os restantes.

Portanto, ou estão com ele ou contra ele, e quem não quiser chocar ovos alheios arrisca-se a ver o ninho sem ovos. Faz lembrar os filmes da Mafia e do Padrinho...

Much like in "The Godfather", this bird treasures and protects those who do it good (read hatch its eggs). If the habit of laying eggs on other's nests is not exclusive, this bird has a tactic for making sure they will not be rejected. It will go back to nest and check if the egg is still there, if it is not... it destroys all the others. A "Corleone" bird has to protect its family, right?
