Vinte e Sete

De novo voltam os fogos a ensombrar o Verão. Como é possível? Dizem muitos... O que foi feito para prevenir, pensam poucos...

Será mão criminosa? Será o tempo quente de Verão, será a falta de àgua? Será azar, será destino?

Não será que estas condições e estas perguntas se repetem todos os anos? E todos os anos perecem àrvores, florestas, ecosistemas, e vidas humanas, apesar do sacrifício dos bombeiros?

Todos os anos é o mesmo, e o que é feito para evitar? Discutir se se deve alugar ou comprar aviões? E cada um de nós o que faz para contribuir ou ajudar, liga a televisão?

Não passará o mudar desta situação por cada um de nós? (Limpar as florestas ou matas, replantar àrvores, diminuir lixo, apoiar os bombeiros...)

Yet again forest fires rage through Northern Portugal and Galicia. Year after year we hear about the criminal natura of fires, the coincidences, the dry weather, the heat, the unclean forests, the lack of roads to access it.

And what is being done? A lot of discussion, every time more reporters on the field, and more cameras, but the same firemen suffering and battling agains the scorching flames.

Things need to change, and that change must also start with every one of us, helping to keep forest clean, or cleaning them, supporting firemen, and not only by thinking if the governement should buy helicopters or rather rent airplanes...
